Job Description Perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations. Follow standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments; technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non-routine work may also be reviewed in progress. Perform at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as: Following specific instructions, assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts; may service or repair simple instruments or equipment. Conduct a variety of tests using established methods. Adjust and operate equipment, and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors. Extract engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources; processes the data following well-defined methods including elementary algebra and geometry; presents the data in prescribed form.
Utilize engineering drawings, build complicated assemblies, perform simple soldering, and build cables with minimal supervision. Assist lead technician with cabling a rack or unit. Use Excel-based material trackers to check status of materials.
Required Skills Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2 years or relevant experience.
Familiarity with engineering drawings and schematics
Ability to use drawings to complete assemblies with little supervision.
Soldering experience or certification preferred.
Connector (RJ45, Molex, Serial, CAT5/6) building experience preferred.
Familiarity with DoD systems such as CANES and ADNS (preferable).
Ability to travel as necessary.
This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship.
