PDMG II / Crew Leader (PT/OC) - FEMA Reston, VA, US

Job Description Provide direction on projects from inception through completion and provides technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the PA program. Manage the PA grant delivery process (from Applicant assignment to Exit Briefing) for an average amount of 8 individual applicants simultaneously. The number of applicants will vary from approximately 1 to 15 depending on the number of projects and complexity of projects that an applicant claims. Ensure program delivery in a timely, professional, customer-centric manner that meets all assigned Applicant’s recovery priorities. Manage multiple PDMG I (between 5-7) in their execution of the program delivery and interactions with all their customers including obtaining approval from appropriate stakeholders. Monitor costs including how cost management processes interact with each other and with other project management processes, monitor performance metrics and create an integrated management plan. Provide coaching and mentoring to the crew. Responsibilities include the following:


State mission, vision, values and operating principles, key lines of business, and the names of key executives including their roles in the organization.

Identify the organization’s core application systems relevant to the project environment, such as, Project Management tools, accounting and management information systems, collaboration systems, etc. Explain the major functions or services supported.

Describe the importance of relevant legal issues, such as intellectual property rights, contracts and regulatory legislation in the context of project management. Recognize or find out what principles of law apply to a specific situation and know when to refer legal questions to company or outside legal groups. Identify any relevant standards for legal issues.

Describe the general value chain of the company including the financial and accounting principles and practices that can affect projects and their stakeholders.


Identify the major roles and responsibilities of the Technology function and describe the key activities performed by Technology professionals and managers.

Describe the basic concepts and issues of system or technology integration in the project context, including an appreciation for the risks and benefits.

This is a Part-Time On-Call position.

Required Skills Ability to successfully pass background investigation to obtain required FEMA badge.

Trained in the PA model and have recent FEMA deployment experience.

Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related experience or 10 + years in the field.

3+ years of experience in project/ program management of medium scale public assistance operations/field of expertise.

This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship.

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community.
