Document/Training Development Specialist II (PT/OC) - FEMA Reston, VA, US

Job Description Assist in the development of PA Program guidance documents and tools when needed. Provide training aids, instructor guides, student manuals, and web-based training for PA courses. Provide technical recommendations, technical editing, graphic development, and formatting for PA documents. Participate in and conduct training programs. Track training requirements within designated area of responsibility. Involved in initial plan design and existing plan enhancements.

This is a PART-TIME ON-CALL position.

Required Skills Ability to successfully pass a background investigation to obtain the required FEMA badge.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; Master’s Degree or professional registration with 2 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or field of expertise; or 10 years of experience in disaster fieldwork or in field of expertise.

Ability to instruct the full spectrum of subject areas within respective programs.

Prior experience instructing a minimum of 5 courses within a specific program.

Demonstrated ability to modify instruction-based on target audience and setting.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) skills.

This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship.

Functional Area Program Management & Acquisition Support

Department Our services in the Defense business unit support all branches of the U.S. military and the intelligence community. Our teams provide a variety of support services related to the maintenance and life cycle sustainment of US Navy, US Coast Guard and Customs and Border Patrol fielded C5I systems. We are focused on the design, systems engineering, project management, procurement, installation, training, testing, and field maintenance of these systems. We also provide personnel services to military personnel, military families, and civilians working for the military. Our capabilities address a wide range of managed services, as well as the complete military lifecycle which includes recruitment, to active duty through retirement.
